Omaha, Nebraska’s premier milliner, Margie Trembley is founder and designer of Margie Trembley Chapeaux. She is an Arkansas native who spent several years in Chicago where she explored creating with wool, silk and other natural fibers.
Influenced by her many trips to the Chicago Art Institute, her participation in a city-wide needle arts guild, and her interest in all things Japanese, allowed her to explore various techniques which eventually catapulted her into designing and creating ladies' hats. She has studied with top domestic and international millinery designers. Offering cutting edge as well as classic headwear, her hats are truly a wearable piece of art. Her work has been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, B and J Fabrics in the Garment District in NYC, the Museum of Nebraska Art, The Essential Hat in Melbourne Australia and in various other venues throughout the globe. She is a member of the Milliners Guild based out of NY. Her elegant designs are a result of her exposure, both in Japan, and in the U.S., to the fine lines of simplicity. She learned how glorious simple really is. Her current collection ranges from $200-$800. Her designs have been much sought after for Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, weddings and special events, and have been a frequent runway favorite at Omaha Fashion Week. Easy to wear, they are designed and created in the U.S. Most of her hats are handmade but she also utilizes pre-made hat bodies, steams them, and forms them over hat blocks. She sometimes uses vintage hats for a small number of her creations. Using her collection of vintage hat blocks, she creates a one of-a-kind piece with a flair for the unusual. Workmanship is top priority. Praised by the press and others in the industry her hats have been featured on Vogue.com, NBC Sports, Churchill Downs, www.churchilldowns.com , Omaha World Herald and other publications both digitally and in print internationally.
